Statement and Course of Action

 

In each question below is given a statement followed by two courses of action  numbered I and II. You have to consider the statement and the following courses of action and decide which of the courses of action is implicit in the statement.

Give answer

(A) If only courses of action I is implicit

(B) If only courses of action II is implicit

(C) If neither I nor II is implicit

(D) If both I and II are implicit.

 

 

1. Statement :  It is reported that though Vitamin E present in fresh fruits and

vegetables is beneficial for human body, capsuled Vitamin E not have the same effect on human body.

 

Courses of Action :

 

I. The sale of capsuled Vitamin E should be banned.

II. People should be encouraged to take fresh fruits and vegetables to meet the body's requirement of Vitamin E.

2. Statement : A large number of people visiting India from country X have be

tested positive for carrying viruses of a killer disease.

 

Courses of Action :

I. The government of India should immediately put a complete ban people coming to India from country X including those Indians who are settled in country X.

II. The government of India should immediately set up detection centre

at all its airports and seaports to identify and quarantine those who

are tested positive.

 

3. Statement : The Minister said that the teachers are still not familiarized with the need, importance and meaning of population education in the higher education system. They are not even clearly aware about their role and responsibilities in the population education programme.

Courses of Action :

I. Population education programme should be included in the college curriculum.

II. Orientation programme should be conducted for teachers on population education.

 

4. Statement : Mr. X, an active member of the Union, often insults his superiors in the office with his rude behaviour.

Courses of Action :

I.  He should be transferred to some other department.

II. The matter should be referred to the Union.

 

5. Statement : As stated in the recent census report the female to male ratio is

alarmingly low.

Courses of Actions :

I. The government should conduct another census to verify the results.

II. The government should immediately issue orders to all the departments to encourage people to improve the ratio.

6. Statement : India's performance in the recent Olympic Games was very poor Not even a single medal could be bagged by the players. Government has spent Rs. 5 crores in training and deputing a team of players to participate in the Olympic Games.

Courses of Action :

I.  India should stop sending players to the future Olympic Games.

II. Government should immediately set up an enquiry commission to find out the reason for India's dismal performance.

7. Statement : Courts take too long in deciding important disputes of various departments.

Courses of Actions :

I. Courts should be ordered to speed up matters.

II. Special powers should be granted to officers to settle disputes concerning their department.

 

8. Statement: A large number of students have been caught using unfair means during the final-year degree examination.

Courses of Actions :

I. All these students should be debarred permanently from appearing

for any examination conducted by the authority.

 

II. The guardians of these students should be called by the authority to

inform them that any such behaviour in future will not be tolerated.

 

9. Statement : Four districts in State A have been experiencing severe drought for the last three years resulting into exodus of people from these districts.

 

Courses of Actions :

I. The government should immediately start food for work programme in the district to put a halt to the exodus.

 

II. The government should make sincere efforts to provide drinking/potable water to these districts.

 

10.  Statement :  The vegetable traders feel that the prices of onion will again go up shortly in the State 'P'.

 

Courses of Action :

 

I. The 'P' State Government should purchase and store sufficient quantity of onion in advance to control prices.

 

II. The P State Government should make available network of fair price shops for the sale of onions during the period of shortage.
