IAS /PCS - International Relations- India and China- PLA at it again


The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) carried out ‘provocative’ military movements on the southern bank of Pangong Tso lake on the intervening night of August 29 and 30, 2020. 

India had Galwan Valley clash with China in mid-June, 2020. 

PLA troops have consistently violated the previous consensus arrived at during military and diplomatic engagements on the standoff.

India has  withdrawn from a multilateral war game to be held in Russia in September , 2020 where Chinese and Pakistan troops are also participating. 

The meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, 2020 is scheduled to be held in Russia. 

India needs to link the bilateral ties with border disputes. 

Complete disengagement of troops must be precondition for resumption of the usual business relations with China,
