China tops the world for the longest land border
1. A forward policy is a set of foreign policy doctrines applicable to territorial border disputes , in which emphasis is placed on securing control of disputed areas by invasion & annexation or by the creation of compliant buffer zone.
2. In Chinese context border disputes with India over Aksai Chin , Arunachal Pradesh ( NEFA) & recently in Doklam in Bhutan where India has agreement of providing security.
3. China’ expansion of territory in South China Sea by building reclaimed islands and taking over strategic shipping lanes affecting interests in Vietnam, Indonesia ,Malaysia, Brunei , Philippines.
4. China’s annexation in Mongolian Oil rich fields territory .
5. Some call China’s Africa Policy as well as One Belt One Road initiative as the part of its forward policy.
6. Senkaku and Ryukyu islands, are matter of dispute between People’s Republic of China , Republic of China , Japan is another visible example of China’s forward policy.
7. China got Zhebao Islandfrom from Soviet Republic only after having a border dispute.
8. China has dispute with Vietnam over the Spratly islands.
9. China has dispute with North Korea over Jiando.
10. China has dispute with the Philippines over Scarborough Shoal.
11. China has territorial dispute with 18 nations.
